Houston Mennonite Church

Followers of Jesus committed to loving God and all people. Our faith community seeks to build up God's kingdom through daily living, public witness, active support of the people and practices of the church, and spiritual growth as disciples of Christ.

HMC believes that: everyone is welcome, no human is illegal, love is love, science is real, doubts are healthy, women's rights are human rights, black lives matter, justice is love, peace is possible, non-violence works, Jesus told us to love our enemies, Christianity = compassion, and a whole lot more besides.

Rising Voices Arts Community

Rising Voices Arts Community is an inclusive and affirming arts community that welcomes all and intentionally empowers disenfranchised, underrepresented, marginalized, and underserved communities by teaching students to find and amplify their voices through theatre and the arts.

We address the challenging issues relevant to our students and communities, providing a space that allows respectful discourse through art, even when that discourse is difficult.

African American Policy Forum

Founded in 1996, The African American Policy Forum (AAPF) is an innovative think tank that connects academics, activists and policy-makers to promote efforts to dismantle structural inequality.

We utilize new ideas and innovative perspectives to transform public discourse and policy. We promote frameworks and strategies that address a vision of racial justice that embraces the intersections of race, gender, class, and the array of barriers that disempower those who are marginalized in society.

AAPF is dedicated to advancing and expanding racial justice, gender equality, and the indivisibility of all human rights, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Precious Plastic

Precious Plastic is a global community of hundreds of people working towards a solution to plastic pollution. Knowledge, tools and techniques are shared online, for free. So everyone can start (yes, you too!).

We are independent, poor but free :)

Mirus Academy

Mirus Academy is a small "micro-school" dedicated to providing an excellent college-preparatory education in a friendly, low-stress environment. Since our foundation in 2006, Mirus has been so much more than a school-- it's been an extended family that nurtures academic, social, and emotional growth.
